About the Role 

We are seeking amotivated and detail-oriented Technician to join our high-tech manufacturingteam at Wafer Technology, a leader in semiconductor materials production. Inthis role, you will be directly involved in the growth and refining ofpolycrystalline materials (advanced materials composed of numerous smallcrystals (grains) bonded together) which form the foundation forhigh-performance semiconductor wafers.

This position offershands-on experience in a cleanroom environment, working with precisionequipment and advanced technologies essential to the global semiconductorsupply chain.

This role will involve shift work, alternating between the following shift pattern each week. 3:00pm - 11:00pm Monday to Friday and 7:00am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday the following week. 

Your Responsibilities 

  • Grow III-V semiconductor poly crystalline material (full training provided).
  • Maintain product quality by processing materials according to instructions.
  • Assist in the delivery of CI (Continuous Improvement) initiatives.
  • Maintain the production data and complete all required records.
  • Prepare the apparatus in readiness for the synthesis or the zone refining process.
  • Prepare and start up the synthesis or the refining process.
  • Monitor and maintain the processes in the Poly Department 
  • Complete/shutdown the processes in the Poly Department.
  • Maintain the operational standard e.g. clean and prepare items of plant and equipment.
  • Separate & dispose of by-products and waste as appropriate.
  • Prepare work areas and equipment for maintenance. 
  • Maintain product quality by processing materials according to instructions.
  • Undergo cross training on other processes as and when required.


About you

  • Experience in manufacturing is desirable. 
  • Chemical handling experience is desirable. 
  • Cleanroom experience is desirable.
  • Experience of monitoring and recording production data.
  • Experience and understanding using Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Attention to Detail – to maintain cleanliness and follow process specifications precisely.
  • Most importantly, keen to learn and develop new skills. Full training will be provided.
