About You
The Photonics Product Engineer serves the following key functions as a member of the IQE, plc Technology Group:
- Customer technical support, ensuring that IQE’s epi-wafers meet or exceed customer requirements
- Internal technical support, prescribing manufacturing specifications that ensure product quality concurrently with cost-effective manufacturing
- Thorough data analysis of customer and manufacturing data to determine the correlation between device performance and epitaxial growth parameters
- Document best known practice using industry standard tools such as FMEA and control plans
- Establishment of manufacturing specifications as assigned
- Analyze product and manufacturing data, seeking correlations to critical-to-function parameters
- Work closely with data analysts to prescribe standard analysis routines to be performed on customer and process data
- Technical expert focused on ensuring that IQE’s technology is best in class
- Close collaboration with local site process engineering teams and product/technology managers to ensure that golden processes and recipes produce satisfactory material
- Manage manufacturing specifications as assigned
- Support the IQE Group as required for customer queries, product development, complaints, etc.
- Understanding of III-V crystal growth equipment and impact of epitaxial growth processes on device performance is desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary for effective interaction with internal and external customers
About You
- MS or PhD in science or engineering is required
- Fluent understanding of optoelectronic device physics
- Proficiency with materials characterization techniques for III-V semiconductors
- Familiarity with III-V optoelectronic device fabrication and device testing
- Experience with epitaxial growth of InP semiconductors by MBE or MOCVD is desirable
- Understanding of III-V crystal growth equipment and impact of epitaxial growth processes on device performance is desirable
