About the role
We are looking for a proactive and detail‑driven individual to ensure smooth business operations by securing the materials and supplies needed. In this role, you will manage the purchasing of a range of assigned items.
Main Responsibilities
- Drive strategic relationships with key and critical suppliers.
- Maintaining an inventory.
- To provide purchasing and negotiation support for capital and contract expenditure proposals.
- Identify potential suppliers and benchmark against current suppliers. Develop market analysis, strategic risk, provide opportunities assessment of suppliers.
- Monitor, manage and feedback key supplier performance liaising with Quality Team on a regular basis utilising Quarterly Business Reviews for key suppliers.
- Drive supplier QCD development activity with key strategic suppliers.
- Support of site supplier scorecard and audit process and Supplier Corrective Action Reports deploying preventative actions.
- Proactively work with suppliers to achieve ‘zero defects’ on quality and delivery performance.
- Develop Contract / Supplier Agreements Database.
- Support of supplier quality audits.
- Manage Procurement policies and standard operating procedures across IQE’s manufacturing facilities.
- Adhere to all internal safety, HR, environmental and quality guidelines and procedures.
About you
- Degree or equivalent CIPS Qualification.
- Preferably MCIPS.
- Able to build effective relationships and engage confidently with colleagues at all levels, working seamlessly across functional teams.
- Preferable working experience within a IATF16949/Technology environment.
- Awareness, knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management.
- Familiarisation with ISO9001:2015 quality systems, with key strengths in Purchasing & logistics aspects of the standard.
- Valid Driving License.
- Ability to accurately interpret complex contracts and pricing proposals.
- Strong project management experience.
- Hazadous Goods Handling awareness.
- Basic COSHH/COMAH/ADR Awareness.
